Decision IV “Beckett” Theatre Award

The winning work of this IV edition of the “Beckett” Theatre Award, to which 106 works competed from Spain, Chile and other European countries, was “La seducción del eunuco / The seduction of the eunuch”, by the Spanish author Alberto de Casso, well known playwright with several awards in his credit, such as the Prize “Lope de Vega”, ” Calderón de la Barca” and one from “Dramaturgia de Escena Contemporánea”. The decision of the prize was issued by a Jury integrated by Ernesto Caballero (Director of the National Dramatic Centre), Cristina Santolaria (General Assistant Director of Theatre of the Spanish Government Culture Department), Fernando Almena (Writer) and Lukasz Gornicki (Vice-president of the Foundation Valparaiso) and presided by D. Carlos Murciano, member of the Belgian-Spanish History Academy, last November 3rd 2011. The prize is endowed with 6.000 Euros and the edition of the winning book, in the collection “Beckett” of Theatre, as well as his presentation in a dramatized reading.
