The Ayuntamiento de Mojácar Artist-in-residence Grant is an essential part of the Foundation’s plight to restore its original calling and spirit. Almost two thousand international artists have lived and worked together in Mojácar over the last 25 years, which has made it possible for new generations to breathe life into the Foundation and the town, whilst Mojácar and the Foundation have left their footprint on these artists on their return to their home countries.
The granted artists will have the opportunity to experience the wide range of cultural activities and active arts debates among several interdisciplinary creative teams during 2016.
At the end of the Artist-in-Residence Grant, visual artists must donate one of their works to the Town Hall; musicians must offer a public hearing at one of the locations available in the town and/or at the Foundation; scholars producing textual or audiovisual works must leave copies of said works at Mojácar Town Hall and/or at the Foundation and they must participate in a seminar/presentation/reading thereof. Concerning creative publications and works produced during their stay in the residence, granted artists must mention that they have received a scholarship from Mojácar Town Hall as part of the Foundation’s Artist-in-residence programme.
Valparaiso Foundation and Mojácar Town Hall reserve the right to publish and/or exhibit the pieces, texts or audiovisual works delivered, in any such way they deem appropriate.
Written or public statements, issued on an individual or joint basis, linked to the creative project, in addition to all publications made during the scholarship period, must mention the fact that the individual in question received the Ayuntamiento de Mojácar Artist-in-Residence Grant via Fundación Valparaíso in the corresponding credits, biographies or curriculum vitae.
Granted artists must participate, both on an individual and joint basis, in activities organised by Mojácar Town Hall and Valparaiso Foundation, whenever requested.
